Challenge accepted I baked a batch of them and if they are the best cookies in the world or not, I can't tell because I had no time to try them, as they disappeared in the blink of an eye so...
at the end, the ones that had them, my 12 years old son and his friends, when asked how were the cookies, their answers were, with their mouths full of crumbs...
"...the best cookies I had in my entire life..."
"...best cookies ever..."
"yum..., there's more..., there's more...???"
Dear Joana, after these comments I have no option but believe that they might really be the BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES in the world!!!
240g salted butter, softened
110g caster sugar
165g soft light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
350g plain flour
1/2 tsp fine sea salt
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
380g chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Line one or two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Beat the butter and sugar together, until creamy and pale.
Add the eggs and vanilla and beat for a further 2 minutes.
Fold in the sifted flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and salt.
Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.
Drop one rounded tablespoonful of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets and bake in the preheated oven for 14 minutes or until cooked through.
Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
